Injector Cleaning

INJECTOR TESTING AND SERVICING

At Decimal Tenths we are very proud to be teamed up with the worlds leader in petrol injector testing equipment ASNU. As North East agents for these British made machines we have the ability and hardware to answer the questions others cant. Our technicians use this equipment to test a wide range of injectors for both customers and trade. If you run a standard road car, a tuned fast road car, a dedicated track car or a full blown competition car our workshop and ASNU trained staff can work with you to keep your fuel injectors healthy.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

Your injectors are an integral part to the running of your vehicle, a un healthy injector can not only cause rough running issues and possibly your EML light to appear but can also be the silent killer of an engine if left unserviced over time.

Just like your engine your injectors have filters, these tiny plastic filters need to be changed at regular intervals too, if left these can clog with debris. In worst cases we see the plastic and gauze filters break down and eventually contaminate the injector with debris causing irregular spray patterns and eventually part failure. The plastic filter is the danger to most injectors as it simply brakes down over time, this can be rectified with the fitting of long life stainless steel items.

GDi injectors work in a harsh environment inside your inlet port of the engine, this means they see a lot of heat and sometimes oil. This can cause the tips of the injectors to foul with carbon build up over time. The fine nozzles which allow measured flow of fuel into the cylinders can become contaminated and narrowed which in turn hampers precise fuel delivery. This build up if left to manifest can again be a contributing factor of misfires or leaning out a cylinder.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

There is no guessing here, our ASNU machine allows us to load up a set of injectors and replicate them running in a safe and controlled environment. We test at pressures from zero to ten bar whilst alternating different RPM’s and duty cycles to allow us to see any inconsistent spray patterns. Inductance testing allows us to monitor the injectors health electrically, our leak test holds the injectors closed but replicates rail pressure at the same time allowing us to visually see any fine drips or leaks. Static flow testing allows us to measure the injectors cubic capacity (cc) by measuring each one in turn over a timed period, when we have the results for each one we can then work out the cc and determine if the injectors are balanced. Cleaning is all done in an ultrasonic bath whilst the injectors are still running, rather than then lay dormant in a bath the parts are active and back purge the dirt and debris out of themselves.

PRICING

Our injector testing for VAG models start at £25.00 + VAT per injector.
